About Me

God has a way of making our paths lead in directions we don't see or expect but yet are the best and right answers. Proverbs 19:21 says, "Many are the plans in a man's heart but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." Some times the shape of our life looks like it will be one thing, but it ends up another. Remember faith, hope, and love have a way of making everything work out for the best. 1 Corinthians 13:13 states, "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Cease toDAY!

What a better reminder of God's faithfulness than the constant overflow of prayers, encouragement, and financial support from people just like you??

Ephesians 3:20-21 says, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."

Over the last week I have been silenced a number of times by this simple reminder of how God truly carries forth His work beyond our expectations, supplying me with constant reasons to both rejoice and mourn over how good He is.  Grieving moments of the loss to come in leaving NWIA, seeing loved ones depart to places God has led them (both here on earth and Heaven!), enlightening moments of conviction motivating me to capture my thoughts and adjust my acts, the voices of small children & the sincere elderly folk, on and on I could go...

A lot of my attention has been given to Ecclesiastes 4:9 and 10 over the last few years as its ATLAS of Sioux Center's model verse and a commonly applied Scripture at weddings but more recently verse 12 has come to life in abundance, "though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three is not quickly broken."

For a number of reasons I am holding these words very dear to me lately as friends, acquaintances, coworkers, and family members seem to assist me well in more roundly understanding both my strengths and weaknesses in allowing God to map out the steps for the course of my life (Proverbs 16:9).  Simple conversations or reactions of others as well as more in depth heart to heart wrestling moments with both our Creator and His creation draw to better light how I must constantly change my pace of walking or state of thinking...and although its painfully humbly at moments to my humanity, I have to come to delight over these matters and truly believe they are a mere reflection of how joined efforts are less easily broken than riding through life solo.

As a departing note, I would like to leave you with another opportunity to invest your resources in this journey with me  as I am just under reaching a third of my financial goal (Follow the Link: http://www.crcna.org/pages/crwm_donate_online.cfm), a warm thanks to all those of you who have already partnered with me in the way that is most fitting and obedient for you, an extra praise to our Father as well as a cry out for more and more single-minded faithfulness on my part, AND a special reminder to all you readers to CEASE TO.DAY to see as He sees, hear as He hears, and move as He moves!

...June presented me with a closure to my part-time position at Orange City Waiver Home as well as a "Commissioning Service" at Faith Baptist Church in Rock Rapids.  Praise God for the ways He expanded me and others through these moments and pour out your grace & truth Father as I embark on several speaking engagements in the month of July.
